Pamela Bożek

Pamela Bożek is an artist, nature educator, forest bathing guide, and Doctor of Arts. She graduated from the Faculty of Sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków. Her practice explores themes of solidarity, care, accessibility, and equality between humans and more-than-human beings. Through stories of community, relationships, and encounters, she collaborates with people who have experienced migration, caregiving, and disability, while also drawing on her own lived experience as a caregiver to a person with a disability. She lives and works in a borderland village in the Masurian region of Poland, where she runs a welcoming permaculture homestead.
Bożek is the recipient of the Maria Anto and Elsa von Freytag-Loringhoven Art Prize and has received scholarship from the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, the Gessel Foundation for Zachęta, and Krytyka Polityczna's Solidarity Programme. She is a member of the Accessibility Department at Zachęta – National Gallery of Art in Warsaw. Since 2024, together with Emilia Rudzka, she has co-led Own Rooms (Własne Pokoje), Poland's first programme designed for caregivers and people with disabilities that provides individual personal assistance. Her works, as well as collaborative projects created with invited participants, have been presented at, among others, Arsenal Gallery in Białystok, Arsenal Municipal Gallery in Poznań, the Central Museum of Textiles in Łódź, the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw, the Centre for Heritage, Arts and Textile in Hong Kong, KODE Art Museums and Composer Homes in Bergen, and Bermondsey Project Space in London. Her exhibition There Will Be No Expedition (Wyprawy nie będzie) at Aspekty Gallery received a Special Prize from the ING Polish Art Foundation.
