Krystian Burda

A visual artist, he created paintings, sculptures, drawings, prints, films, spatial figures, and elements of sacred architecture. In his artistic practice, he continuously explored rhythm and space. In 1961, he graduated with distinction under the guidance of professors Jerzy Jarnuszkiewicz and Oskar Hansen at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. His diploma thesis, The Road to Żelazowa Wola – A Study of Time and Space, presented the concept of a monument-road model commemorating the work of Fryderyk Chopin. Between 1961 and 1993, he worked as an industrial design designer at the Rybnickie Zakłady Wyrobów Metalowych Huty Silesia in Silesia, where he developed a painting technology for enameled sheet metal. From 1971 to 1980, he focused on decorating the gray facades and interiors of public buildings with enamels.
