Marta Kwiatek

Marta Kwiatek creates and works in the technique of serigraphy. She is the head of the Screen Printing and Drawing Studio at the School of Form, SWPS University in Warsaw, where she promotes the practice of serigraphy among young artists and future designers.

She is also the co-founder of Kwiaciarnia Grafiki – a space that has been promoting screen-printing culture for over a decade in the spirit of democratizing access to art. Kwiaciarnia Grafiki uses this manual printing technique to produce original projects while inviting artists to embark on a shared adventure with serigraphy. Its activities emphasize collaboration, participation, and reuse.

In her earlier artistic practice, Marta Kwiatek worked as part of the duo Kwiatuchi, which specialized in socially engaged art projects focused on community participation through “soft” actions where plants served as the main medium. Kwiatuchi were pioneers of guerilla gardening in Poland. Their work was later referenced, among others, by Elżbieta Jabłońska in her project Nieużytki Sztuki (The Wastelands of Art).

Awards include: Bologna Children’s Book Fair, Polish Graphic Design Awards, Jasnowidze, BMW/URBA/Transformy competition, and the title of Aktivist of the Year.
