Liliana Zeic (formerly Liliana Piskorska, she/her), born in 1988, is a visual artist and holds a PhD in Fine Arts.
Her artistic practice is rooted in queer feminism and queer ecology. She works with craft techniques, video, photography, objects, and text, creating intermedia and performative projects based on artistic research. Since 2020, she has increasingly turned to craft-based methods, primarily developing her own original woodworking technique based on intarsia.
She is a graduate of the Faculty of Fine Arts at Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, and in 2011 she studied at the University of Warsaw. In 2017, she defended her doctoral dissertation at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Toruń (supervised by Elżbieta Jabłońska). She was a finalist of the Forecast Forum at Haus der Kulturen der Welt in Berlin in 2017. She received the Audience Award at Spojrzenia 2019: Deutsche Bank Award and was a laureate of OP YOUNG 2020; in the same year, she was nominated for the WARTO Award. Her works have been presented in over 130 group and solo exhibitions in Poland and internationally, and are held in public collections (Zachęta – National Gallery of Art, Museum of Contemporary Art Wrocław, Arsenał City Gallery, NOMUS).
She has been working under the name Liliana Zeic since February 2021.
