Mother of One
HOS
18.09.2026 - 07.11.2026In her latest exhibition, Zofia Pałucha examines one of the most common—yet deeply reductive—ways identity is framed on social media. A Mother of One is more than a statement of parental status; it is a label that, in the digital world, seeks to define a woman, assigning her a specific social function and perceived value.
Pałucha reveals that beneath this seemingly innocuous line from a profile bio lies an entire spectrum of lived experience: from the physical realities of motherhood and voyeurism to systemic violence. This is an exhibition about what remains unseen.
Pałucha's paintings resemble crime scene reports or X-rays. She exposes mechanisms of power and desire, portraying women as subjects of relentless scrutiny—whether climbing a flight of stairs, expecting a child, or becoming victims of human trafficking. The result is a stark and uncompromising portrait of contemporary life, in which the body exists simultaneously as a site of sanctity and a commodity.
