Kasia Dorocińska

A graduate of the Faculty of Graphic Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, where she also obtained a PhD in Fine Arts. She has presented her work, among others, at SOA Gallery in Warsaw, Luksfera Gallery in Warsaw, Bocheńska Gallery in Warsaw, and PROM Kultury Saska Kępa in Warsaw.
In her artistic practice, she reflects on the nature of photography as a medium — particularly the relationship between its materiality and its elusiveness, between the image as a physical trace of light and the image as a carrier of memory, emotion, and experience. She also explores the paradoxes inherent in photography: a medium that both preserves and negates time, that can function simultaneously as a record or presence, and as their absence.
