Dominika Olszowy

Dominika Olszowy

Dominika Olszowy works at the intersection of various media, employing video, performance, installation, and a distinctive blend of truth and fabrication. She creates works that she sometimes treats as amulets, aiming to charm and domesticate a reality mired in crisis. Her art often draws from personal experiences, which she transforms into universal statements infused with subtle humor about the human condition and the passage of time. Since 2008, she has been running the ephemeral Sandra Gallery. She co-founded the radical hip-hop group Cipedrapskuad and the moped gang Horsefuckers M.C. Olszowy frequently collaborates with the theater, designing stage sets for productions. In 2019, she received the "Spojrzenia - Deutsche Bank" award for the most intriguing young Polish artist of the past two years. She lives and works in Warsaw.
