Adam Witkowski - born in 1978. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk in 2004, earning his degree from the Faculty of Painting and Graphic Arts under the supervision of Professor Wojciech Zamiara. In 2011, he received his PhD from the Faculty of Graphic Arts at the same academy, and later earned his postdoctoral degree (habilitation) at the University of the Arts in Poznań. He is currently a professor at the Faculty of Sculpture and Intermedia in Gdańsk.
He works with sound, music, painting, and installation. He often collaborates as an artistic duo with his wife, Ania Witkowska. Together, they were nominated for the Spojrzenia Award in 2011 and received the Splendor Gedanensis Award.
He co-creates several music groups, including Nagrobki (with Maciej Salamon), Gówno, Langfurtka (with Mikołaj Trzaska), Wolność (with Krzysztof Topolski and Wojciech Juchniewicz), Woda (with Krzysztof Topolski), as well as many other ephemeral musical formations.
