We Have Complexes
Marta Nadolle
LETO
opening at 19.09.2025The exhibition We Have Complexes by Marta Nadolle is a personal narrative exploring the impact of complexes on identity and self-perception. The artist examines their origins, tracing them not solely to her relationship with her mother—as she once believed—but to the broader social and cultural systems in which she was raised. By confronting the models of femininity and masculinity represented by her parents, Nadolle seeks her own definition of femininity—one rooted in spaces of comfort, community, and self-care.
The exhibition also addresses complexes stemming from one’s background—from beauty ideals to interior design styles—revealing aspirations and cultural tensions between East and West. Nadolle’s works offer a reflection on how social pressure and personal experience shape our choices, dreams, and sense of identity.
