LETO

Art historian Marta Kołakowska, after working at the Zachęta Gallery in Warsaw and later in one of the auction houses, opened her own gallery in 2007. The name of the gallery LETO, is an abbreviation of the first syllables of the names of her children. Changing its locations, the gallery has built its reputation as one of the most active on the local scene. LETO also keeps expanding its international operations, and its program is based around a diverse group of middlegeneration artists such as Markul Angelika, Alex Urban, Maurycy Gomulicki, Wojciech Ireneusz Sobczyk or Xawery Wolski. The gallery has participated in fairs such as Frieze New York, Nada Miami, Artissima, Art Brussels, and Arco Madrid.
