Jak Zapomnieć

Jak Zapomnieć Gallery is a contemporary art space based in Kraków. It was founded in 2018 as an artist-run space and, since 2022, has been operated by the Jak Zapomnieć Foundation. Established by Karolina Jarzębak and Tomek Nowak, the gallery showcases the work of young artists, with a focus on social and political issues, as well as the human condition. It presents cutting-edge contemporary art and also promotes musicians. The gallery organizes exhibitions, performances, concerts, and other events, creating an open and safe space—removed from conservative criticism.

The gallery’s name references a popular song by the band 18L from the early 2000s. It serves as a manifesto of youth and a metaphor for the condition of a generation that, on the one hand, longs to escape from both global and personal problems—but on the other, understands that through memory and action, real change is possible.

Jak Zapomnieć Gallery carries out an original, experimental curatorial program that is informal and inclusive. The gallery represents Kornel Leśniak, Natalia Kleszczewska, Karolina Jarzębak, and Paweł Sobczak.
