Me in a Barrel

We are pleased to invite you to the opening of the exhibition Me in a Barrel, dedicated to a little-known and rarely presented period in the work of Stanisław Ignacy Witkiewicz – his early landscape art, both in painting and photography.

A photograph titled Me in a Barrel, taken by fourteen-year-old Staś, serves as a starting point for a story about artistic maturation, formal experimentation, and the inspirations that shaped the visual language of the future author of Pure Form.

The curator of the exhibition is Paweł Bień, with whom we had the pleasure of working on the exhibition Alfred Lenica: Silence in Space in 2022.

The exhibition will be open from Tuesday to Friday, 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM, and on Saturdays from 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM. It will run until July 31, and then again – after a summer break – from August 26 to 30.
