Mateusz Gromadzki
Mateusz Gromadzki (b. 1996, Olsztyn) is a transmedia artist and a graduate of the Faculty of Painting and Drawing at the Magdalena Abakanowicz University of the Arts in Poznań. He is a recipient of the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage’s Młoda Polska 2025 scholarship and the Grand Prix of the OP_YOUNG 2024 programme.
His practice brings together drawing, painting, object-based work, performance and digital media. He conducts field research at the intersection of sensory anthropology and post-artistic practice, working with organic matter, plants and found artefacts.
His work explores relations between human and more-than-human worlds, carriers of memory, and the regenerative potential of myth and fairy tale. His projects have been presented, among others, at the International Symposium of Contemporary Sculpture “Nature of Matter – Matter of Nature” at the Centre of Polish Sculpture in Orońsko.
