19.09.2025 - 31.10.2025Paul Czerlitzki’s works are created in long, consistent, and methodical series. Their creation involves specific procedures, incorporating reduction, accumulation, and chance. His practice engages in a reflection on painting and its material components. The artist has chosen a methodological process through which he can repeatedly renegotiate, discover, and critically examine the material preconditions of painting—namely the frame, canvas, and paint—as well as its goal: the creation of an image. In his practice, the placement and spatial relationship of the "painting" as an object to a specific environment are also of key importance.
