He graduated in painting from the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow and the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich, and earned his doctorate from the Faculty of Art at the University of National Education in Krakow. His work combines elements of painting and drawing, creating map-like paintings that are personal interpretations of space. Janczy is a precise post-conceptualist, fascinated by areas where the boundaries between art, science, and poetic imagination blur. His work straddles the line between geographical document and artwork, transforming the objective form of a map into a vehicle for subjective experiences of place. Individual series comprise an atlas of alternative geography, where facts clash with fantasies. Janczy has received, among others, the Krakow Creative Scholarship (2019), the Young Poland scholarship (2018), and the Polish Culture in the World scholarship (2018, 2021, 2024, 2025). He was also a finalist in the 11th edition of the Eugeniusz Geppert Competition "Attention: Painting!" in 2013. He lives and works in Krakow.
