Zofia Sobolewska - Ursic
Zofia Sobolewska Ursic (b. 1982) lives and works in Cracow. She studied architecture at dieAngewandte (University of Applied Arts) in Vienna under the guidance of Wolf D. Prix, Zaha Hadid, and Hernan Diaz Alonso. In her artistic practice, she works with a variety of materials, including wood, glass, metal, stone, and straw.
She is currently developing two projects: a collection of objects combining folk and bourgeois motifs, made from rye straw, and a collection of sculptural quills and inkwells titled Pensée Folle, which was recognized by the curators of “COLLECT Design” in New York. In 2024, she was included in the AD100 list, published for the first time by the Polish edition of Architectural Digest.
Her works have been presented by Craftica Gallery at NOMAD in St. Moritz and at Salone del Mobile in Milan.
