Roman Stańczak studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw in the renowned studio of Grzegorz Kowalski. In the 1990s, he gained recognition for his technique of “turning objects inside out.” After a break from artistic activity, he returned to creative work in 2013. In 2019, he represented Poland at the Venice Biennale with the sculpture Flight. He lives and works in Warsaw. His works are included in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw, the Museum of Art in Łódź, and the Ujazdowski Castle Centre for Contemporary Art in Warsaw.
