Przeciąg Gallery will present a solo exhibition by Agata Popik, held off-site at SPLOT Gallery. The exhibition will feature the artist's latest paintings, continuing her exploration of memory. Yet Popik does not approach memory as an archive of the past, but as a process of continually constructing reality from fragments of images, objects, and associations. In an age of screens, algorithms, and online conspiracy narratives, her paintings investigate the moment that precedes interpretation — the instant when the mind begins to perceive meaningful patterns within incomplete arrangements. Recurring motifs of fences, walls, and wire mesh become figures of the threshold, holding the viewer's gaze just before meaning begins to emerge. An important point of reference for the artist is Piotr Potworowski's reflection on "reaching the wall" — a boundary where painting moves beyond the literal act of seeing and opens itself to imagination.
