MEETINGS: Ruego x Avanti. Performance & DJ Set

Gabriel Pedrosa aka Portento + Julian Świerżewski aka Vizril

This event accompanying Zofia Pałucha’s exhibition Mother of One takes the central themes of her paintings beyond the surface of the canvas and into the realms of body, movement, and sound. Intimacy becomes a medium through which the personal and the political meet. A performance by Gabriel Pedrosa, aka Portento—a member of the Ruego collective—expands upon Pałucha’s fascination with corporeality, sexuality, social roles, and personal boundaries. The body—living and private, yet exposed to the observer’s gaze—becomes a starting point for a narrative about intimacy, control, and autonomy.
The evening will conclude with a DJ set by Julian Świerżewski, aka Vizril, shifting the body into the register of rhythm and collective experience. Electronic music, with its roots in queer and alternative spaces of community-building, serves not merely as accompaniment but as another dimension through which to experience the exhibition. Painting transforms into corporeality and movement, while sound and individual experiences come together to create a shared, synesthetic experience.
