MEETINGS: "What Are Art-Like Objects?". A public lecture by Dr Adam Andrzejewski

The aim of the session is to introduce the philosophical question of the relationship between art and non-art. In today’s world, the abundance of constantly emerging artistic forms and modes of expression raises questions about art’s relationship with reality. Its role in social, political, environmental, and emancipatory life is well established and difficult to overstate. Nevertheless, the relationship between art per se and practices that draw extensively from the art world while retaining the status of non-art remains insufficiently defined. The session will take the form of a seminar discussion exploring whether “art-like” objects—objects situated between art and non-art—can exist and how they might be experienced.
