"The Art of Survival". A lecture and meeting with Anka Wandzel
photo: Wydawnictwo Karakter
How can we search for hope in a world marked by climate and social crises and a pervasive sense of uncertainty? During the lecture, Anka Wandzel, author of the book The Art of Survival, will discuss nature not as a place of escape, but as a space of interdependence, regeneration, and practising survival.
Plants, urban thickets, and ecological artistic practices will serve as a point of departure for rethinking fragility, care, and resilience. The event will expand upon the themes of the exhibition Searching for Hope in the Bushes, whose title refers to Wandzel’s book, and situate the works of Julia Ciunowicz, Anna Goebel, and Marta Jabłońska within a broader context of relationships between art, the environment, care work, and everyday strategies for coping with crisis.
The event is organized in collaboration with Karakter Publishing House.
