Fundacja Stefana Gierowskiego

The Stefan Gierowski Foundation was established in 2014.

The core of the Foundation’s activity is the Stefan Gierowski Archive. Its mission is to compile and document the artist’s creative output, gather and make accessible exhibition catalogues, academic and journalistic texts about him, his own writings, letters, and photographs. The Foundation also houses Stefan Gierowski’s personal library. Due to Gierowski’s deep involvement in artistic life, the materials related to him directly touch upon broad issues in Polish art history over the past several decades, with particular emphasis on the Krzywe Koło Gallery circle.

The Foundation’s exhibition program includes comprehensive presentations focused on various themes in modern and 20th-century painting, as well as exhibitions devoted to the works of Stefan Gierowski. Many of the exhibition topics were originally proposed by Gierowski himself, and the current program continues to follow his guidance.

Over the past two years, the Foundation has organized nine exhibitions in its space.
