Katarzyna Korzeniecka
Gunia Nowik Gallery
25.11.2026 - 01.01.2027Katarzyna Korzeniecka’s exhibition at Gunia Nowik Gallery builds on a recurring intuition in her practice: that reality extends beyond what can be perceived through the senses or put into words. The artist moves away from a linear understanding of time toward an experience in which different orders and scales of existence overlap, while memory, matter, and imagination shape a multidimensional present.
Continuing her work with ebru and marquetry, Korzeniecka explores the properties of materials. Pigments flowing across the surface of water, patterns of wood grain and knots become sources of imagery that extends beyond their physical form, connecting the familiar and immediate with cosmic phenomena. In her new works, the artist draws on forms found in her immediate surroundings, using light, reflections, and material structures to construct portals open to the unknown and the unpredictable. The works take on the character of an architecture of thresholds, creating passages through which the unexpected may enter. Awe in the face of what exceeds human experience, together with a readiness for whatever fate may bring, opens up the possibility of coexisting with multiple worlds without the need to recognize, separate, or name them.
The exhibition will be accompanied by a text by Monika Kostera, researcher, poet, and writer.
