Saturated of Life

The ‘Saturated of Life’ exhibition by Kateryna Aliinyk marks a new chapter in the artist’s practice and is her first individual show in Poland. 

Working mainly with the themes of war, occupation of Ukraine, and the consequences of aggression as seen in nature and beloved landscapes, she touches upon the subject of violence, but also strength and beauty. 

The artist’s most recent works emerge from paying close attention to her surroundings, the land beneath her feet and sky above her head, where birds and insects cross paths with rockets and missiles flying at supersonic speed. Increasingly drawn to the natural order of things, she ponders the beauty of life as much as one’s capacity for cruelty. 

At the same time, Kateryna Aliinyk's paintings are charged with the intensity of life in its many forms. Her joy of life and reverence toward the strength of nature persist not despite the surrounding devastation and destruction, but in defiance of it.
