Karolina Bielawska (b. 1986, Olsztyn; lives and works in Warsaw, Poland) is an artist working primarily across painting while also developing a distinctive sculptural language through large-scale site-specific installations. Her practice unfolds through a restrained, often monochromatic palette, punctuated by subtle accents of colour. From this minimal language, she builds compositions that feel both intuitive and elusive, combining fractal lines, traces of seemingly spontaneous gestures, and biomorphic forms that move between abstraction and figuration. Her works function as delicate systems, where authentic relationships and events materialise through subtle interdependencies. While rooted in introspection, her practice is also shaped by the memory and energy of specific places. The artist weaves together internal experience and external conditions, allowing her artistic propositions to become points of encounter between personal sensation and the material and spatial character of their surroundings.
