Three Colours

18.09.2026 - 07.11.2026Paulina Ołowska’s practice unfolds at the intersection of painting, performance, and exhibition-making. Rather than simply representing reality, her images shape the ways in which it is seen. One of Poland’s most prominent contemporary artists, Ołowska has long drawn on the visual languages of modernist design, fashion, graphic art, and late-socialist culture. In Three Colours, her seventh exhibition at Foksal Gallery Foundation, she engages in a free dialogue with Krzysztof Kieślowski’s film trilogy. Ołowska’s Three Colours do not form a linear narrative. Painting, scenography, film, costume, and archival material create a network of visual and poignant relations, where memory merges with projection, document with fiction, and stylisation with personal experience. Historical visual languages are woven together with the present and the artist’s own biography, creating a world in which collective remembrance, imagination, and autofiction continually overlap and shift in meaning.
