The Hawks and Sparrows

Are vultures arrogant and sparrows modest, as Pier Paolo Pasolini, author of the film “The Hawks and Sparrows”, wanted us to believe? Or is it the other way around? Attributing human characteristics to birds is one of the oldest cultural practices. The impulse to create this exhibition came from noticing the diverse messages conveyed by the ‘bird’ works – from fascination with the natural world and ecology, through existential reflections, to historical, social and political themes. Today, we are giving birds the space of lokal_30, not turning it into an aviary, but setting them free.
