Dłubak Zbigniew

Dłubak Zbigniew

Photographer, painter, art theorist, and longtime editor of the monthly magazine Fotografia, he was one of the key figures in the Polish photographic scene after 1945. He debuted as a photographer in 1947, creating experimental works inspired by the interwar avant-garde. His work encompassed both abstract compositions and minimalist, everyday snapshots of landscapes and interiors. In the 1960s and 1970s, he worked on projects based on the analysis of the concept of the sign and explored the relationships between photography and reality. He was associated with avant-garde galleries in Warsaw and Wrocław, such as Krzywe Koło, Foksal, Remont, and Galeria Współczesna. His photographic legacy is overseen by the Archaeology of Photography Foundation.
