Foreign Body brings together Rafał Zajko and Thom Trojanowski in a shared reflection on what it means to exist on the margin—between places, identities, and states of belonging. The exhibition traces the figure of the outsider not as a fixed position, but as a fluid and creative state.

Trojanowski's immersive environments draw from mythology, ecology, and personal narrative to build dense, dreamlike landscapes where human and non-human forms blur and coexist in an unsettling symbiosis. Zajko's speculative sculptural practice splits linear time, interweaving memory, queerness, and cultural residue into objects that feel simultaneously familiar and alien.

The exhibition treats transgression and intrusion as acts that are both physical and imaginative. What happens when a body enters a landscape, when nature enters a body, or when a foreign form is introduced into an existing system? A foreign body does not have to be an aggressor. It can also be a vessel, a witness, a parasite, a newcomer, or something that allows a system to reveal itself anew.

Zajko's sculptures will also be activated by a performer whose body moves among the works, at times becoming enclosed within or incorporated into the sculptural structures. The presence of a living body introduces another dimension to the exhibition's systems, further complicating the boundaries between body, object, and environment.
