In her latest exhibition, Zofia Pałucha examines one of the most common – and at the same time reductive – descriptions of identity on social media. A Mother of One is not just a statement of family status; it is a label that, in the digital world, is meant to define a woman, assigning her a specific practical and social value.

The artist shows that behind the innocent phrase in her “bio” lies a whole spectrum of experiences: from the biological hardships of motherhood, through voyeurism, to systemic violence. This is an exhibition about the invisible. Pałucha’s paintings resemble a crime scene report or an X-ray. The author exposes the mechanisms of power and desire, portraying women as objects of constant judgment – whether they are climbing stairs, expecting a child, or falling victim to human traffickers. It is a brutally honest portrait of the present day, in which the body is both a temple and a commodity.
