MEETINGS: Performance by Weronika Pelczyńska as part of Aneta Grzeszykowska's exhibition "Daughter"

The performance takes as its point of departure the choreographer and performer’s personal experience of being a daughter and raising a daughter. Through improvisation and compositional practices, Pelczyńska explores these two experiences, seeking to enter into dialogue with the works of Aneta Grzeszykowska and translate their tensions into the language of movement and her own body.

The performance features an oversized costume capable of accommodating either two bodies or a single, enlarged body. Its form raises questions about the relationship between what is individual and what is shared, between one body and two, as well as about the shifting roles and relationships that shape the experience of being a daughter.

The “bi(g)gender” costume, designed by Monika Nyckowska as part of the youmeuniform collection, becomes the material for a choreographic duet. By engaging with its form, weight and movement potential, the performer undertakes her own experiment inspired by Grzeszykowska’s works—through the body, movement and a relationship with another body.

The performance is accompanied by live music by Natan Kryszek.

The performance will begin promptly and last approximately 50 minutes.
