Zuza Golińska
Zuza Golińska b. 1990 in Gdańsk (PL), lives and works in Warsaw (PL)
Zuza Golińska is a multidisciplinary artist who explores the impact of architecture and public space on the human individual. Her practice reflects on the way in which human physical and mental wellbeing is influenced by the psychology of space in the time of civilisational acceleration and late capitalism. In her work, Golińska frequently disrupts the clear-cut division between the functional and the aesthetic as she examines the influence of spatial forms on emotions and decisions of users. In her work she explores the impact of space and architecture on the human being. She analyses the relationship between an organised structure and the body. The public sphere and the private sphere. Using different means, Zuza tries to build new models of shared spaces. wondering what it means to be together and to what extent this is possible nowadays. Is it possible to create a community through a properly constructed space? She consciously refers to familiar functional forms or architectural models, which she then deconstructs. Through her projects, she builds new, less hierarchical relationships with people and the environment.
